Tan Wen is China’s representative to the Miss Universe 2010 pageant. The recently crowned Miss China, is a 19 year old student and a young promising model from Yichun in Heilongjiang province. She starred in a movie directed by Tsui Hark entitled “Not All Women Are Bad” in 2008. According to the Hong Kong director, Tang is beautiful even without makeup.

She was chosen by Beijing-based New Silk Road Modeling Agency (NSR) as China’s representative to the upcoming international pageant. According to NSR’s CEO Li Xiaobai, Tang represents a typical ‘oriental beauty.’ NSR have taken opinions from various fashion editors of luxury brands and they all think that Tang possesses that kind of beauty.

Tang is full of hope and has a strong belief that she can win the Miss Universe 2010 title. She is the only contestant who is not fear to tell the world that she can make it to the top 5 and even get the title. According to Lowyat.net, even though China was not on the top 10 early favorites in the Miss Universe 2010 pageant, Tang is not worried.

“I always feel that there are 1.3 billion Chinese people supporting me, and there is a 5,000-year history behind me.”

If ever Tang reached the top 5, where the five finalists will face Q&A portion, she said that she is proud to speak Chinese on the stage. But as advised by her fans in the internet, she takes up English class and learn about the American culture under the supervision of Mr. Kevin Wang.
