Johana Maria Belen Benitez Olmedo (or Johana Benitez in short) was crowned Miss Universo Paraguay 2010 at the gala held on July 9, 2010 at Telefuturo’s Main Studio. It was organized by Promociones Gloria and Lamartino Producciones SA. The judges of Miss Universo Paraguay 2010 beauty pageant were: Italian Ambassador Pietro Porcarelli, Armando Rubin, the president of Congress, Oscar Gonzalez Daher, Guggiari Pedro, the sexy Paraguayan athlete who specializes in the javelin throw – Leryn Franco, and Miss Paraguay 2007 Maria Maldonado. Justo Villar, the famous footballer who plays for Real Valladolid as a goalkeeper and plays for Paraguayan national team in the FIFA World Cup 2010, attended the said event.

The 23 year-old Johana (or sometimes spelled Yohana) was born in San Lorenzo, a city located in the Central Department in Paraguay. She stands 5 ft 9 in tall. She is a law student at Universidad Nacional de Asuncion in San Lorenzo, Paraguay. She is also a fashion model who walked the runaway at Asuncion Alta Moda and Asuncion Fashion Week.

Johana will also represent Paraguay in the upcoming Reina Hispanoamericana 2010 to be held in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

Paraguay has never won Miss Universe title since it was established in 1952. But this year, it seems that Paraguay has chance of getting their first ever Miss Universe title. Johana seems to be competent enough to reach the top 5 and to win the title. We have seen her photos and she’s really beautiful. Her face truly resembles the face of a Miss Universe titleholder.
