Marelisa Gibson Villegas (or Marelisa Gibson), the representative of Miranda, was crowned Miss Venezuela 2009 on September 24, 2009 at the Poliedro de Caracas in Caracas, Venezuela. She was the sixth Miss Miranda to win the Miss Venezuela title. Aside from the Miss Venezuela 2009 title, she also won “Miss Rostro L’BEL” award (Best Face).

The 21 year-old Marelisa was born on August 26, 1988 in Caracas, the capital and largest city of Venezuela., which is located in the northernpart of the country. If you wonder why her beauty is different from other Latina, it is maybe because she has inherited it from her Swedish greatgrandmother. She is studying Architecture at the Universidad Central de Caracas. She speaks English, French, and Spanish.

Expectation for Marelisa to get the Miss Universe 2010 title is high. Venezuela is the second country which got the highest number of Miss Universe title. Venezuela is next to United States with 6 titles. If Marelisa won the Miss Universe 2010 title, then Venezuela will be the first country to get the title in three consecutive years. Even though, the Miss Universe 2010 pageant hasn’t started yet, Marelisa is one of the favorites to win. Her stunning elegant look makes her shine among the rest.

August 23, 2009 – In the event held at Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas, today, Stefania Fernandez from Venezuela was crowned as the Miss Universe 2009 winner.

It was a back to back Miss Universe title for Miss Venezuela and it was also the first time that happened in the history of Miss Universe pageant. 2007 Miss Venezuela and 2008 Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza was so very happy passing her the crown and they were also seen happily embracing each other.

Stefania Fernandez – Miss Venezuela Universe 2009

Stefania Fernandez was crowned as Miss Venezuela 2009 last September 10, 2008 which was held in Caracas, Venezuela. Dayana Mendoza, Miss Venezuela 2007 and Miss Universe 2008, handed to her the Miss Venezuela crown. Venezuela is hoping that Stefania can get their 6th Miss Universe crown in the 2009 Miss Universe pageant on August 23, 2009.

Aside from Miss Venezuela title, Stefania also won the “Best Body“, “Best Face“, and “Miss Elegance” awards.

Stefania Fernandez is 18 years old from Merida, Venezuela. She is Galician, Polish, Russian, and Ukrainian origin. She is studying English and French and hopefully she wants to be a journalist someday. She is the second Miss Trujillo to win the title. The first one is Barbara Palacios who also won the 1986 Miss Universe title.

Stefania’s father was kidnapped when she was 15 years old. It took five days before her father got back. After that incident, she value her familey even more. She was proud to her dad because even though her dad wasn’t able to reach high school, her father was able to raised their family and he was now a great businessman.

Even though Stefania and Dayana were living in the same country and both wins the Miss Venezuela title, Stefania said that they have not had a chance to talk to each other. But she hopes Dayana could talk to her before the Miss Universe coronation night.
