<p style="text-align: justify;">Ria van Dyke, sponsored by Wellington company Econo-Heat, has been named Miss New Zealand 2010 at Duxton Hotel in Wellington on June 5, 2010. Due to a drop in the number of regional franchise holders in recent years, six contestants including Ria, were represented by a sponsor, rather than a region. Aside from the Miss Universe New Zealand 2010 title, Ria also won &#8220;Miss Potential Model&#8221; and &#8220;Miss Charity Queen&#8221; awards.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">New Zealand-based style and image consultant and fashion editor of Lucire &#8211; Samantha Hannah, &#8220;Max Factor Make-up Artist Search&#8221; winner &#8211; Evana Patterson,  publisher of Lucire &#8211; Jack Yan, Salute Hair director Carl Manderson, and Dina Janse van Rensburg were the judges of Miss Universe New Zealand 2010 pageant.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Ria was born on February 16, 1989 in a beautiful town in the center of the Eastern Bay of Plenty &#8211;  Kawerau. She is 21 years old and stands 5 ft 8 in tall. She completed Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology with honors at University of Auckland and currently pursuing a Master&#8217;s degree.</p>
<p>Miss Universe New Zealand 2010 judges and international photographer Neil Gussey all agreed that Ria is one of the best New Zealand candidates for the Miss Universe pageant.</p>

She won the <strong>Miss New Zealand 2009</strong> title last April 27, 2009 at the Levin Events’ Centre. <p align="justify"><strong>Katie Taylor</strong> is 22 years and stands 5&#8217;9.&#8221; This beautiful girl from <strong>Auckland</strong> is a qualified pilot and a construction project manager. <strong>Val Lott</strong>, Miss New Zealand Universe pageant director, said that Katie is a very natural in the interview which was held privately last April 24, 2009 at the Horowhenua District Council Buildings. She is very good in conveying her ideas. She did not not only make Director Val Lott impressed but also the five panel of judges in the coronation night. They were even impressed on the way she wore her evening gown.</p>
