Desiree van den Berg was crowned Miss Nederland 2010 (Miss Netherlands 2010) at Theater de Efteling (Efteling theater) in Kaatsheuvel on July 4, 2010. Famous Dutch fashion designer Addy van den Krommenacker was one of the judges of the Miss Netherlands pageant.

Desiree van den Berg was crowned Miss Nederland 2010 (Miss Netherlands 2010) at Theater de Efteling (Efteling theater) in Kaatsheuvel on July 4, 2010. Famous Dutch fashion designer Addy van den Krommenacker was one of the judges of the Miss Netherlands pageant.

She was named “Desiree” by her parents because of their ‘desire’ of having a baby (“Desiree is a French name which means “desire”). She started walking when she was 1 year old and started speaking at 1 and a half year old. She couldn’t pronounced her name properly and always called herself “Jeejee.” When she was 3 years old, their family was invited in a house party (house is said to be adjoined with Loosdrecht Lakes). She was amazed and jumped in the water with her clothes on. She thought she could swim but actually she cannot. The most beautiful woman in Netherlands was saved by an eleven year-old boy and without the help of that boy she’s gone forever.

Desiree was born in Santpoort-Noord, a Dutch province of North Holland. She did a lot of sports like swimming, tennis, hockey, and ballet. She’s fond of travelling. When she was young, their family went to Israel where she was almost choked by the fleshy fruit she ate.

She spent her three years of high school at Ichthus College in Driehuis and finished highschool in the United States because her family moved to New Jersey in 2002. She went back to Netherlands in 2005 because she wanted to take medicine course at University of Amsterdam. She wanted to be a doctor someday. She wanted to help people in Africa and she wanted to stay there for at least a year.

Aside from the Miss Universe 2010 pageant, Desiree will also compete for the 2010 Miss World title on October and 2010 Miss Earth title on December.

Avalon-Chanel Weyzig [...]]]> Avalon-Chanel Weyzig is a 19 year-old half-Indonesian who won the 2009 Miss Netherlands (Miss Universe Nederlands) last June 27, 2009. She will be country’s representative for the upcoming 2009 Miss Universe pageant which will be held in Bahamas. The 2009 Miss Netherlands pageant was organized by 2002 Miss Universe Netherlands, Kim Kotter.

Avalon-Chanel Weyzig was born on April 2, 1990 in Zwolle. She can speak English and she is fluent in Spanish language because she have lived in Barcelona, Spain for almost a year. She never thought of becoming a beauty queen. One day, she just saw the ads in the newspaper where they were looking for beautiful ladies for the upcoming 2009 Miss Nederlands pageant. She just tried her luck and it was an awesome experience for her.

Avalon-Chanel favorite phrase is “El Mundo es Mio.” It is Spanish phrase which means “the world is mine.”
